Even with all the changes iOS 7 brings in and of itself, it seems Twitter is taking the opportunity to not only get an exterior makeover—it wants to completely overhaul the way you—and more importantly, new users—interact with it.
One of the first things you might notice (as pointed out by The New Yorker) is the fact that all those little tabs you've grown to depend on have vanished. In their place, Twitter will have you swiping through each different feed—interactions, main timeline, personal feed, etc.—fitting in with Apple's general move away from buttons and towards large, sweeping gestures.
Apart from aesthetics, the most notable change will be coming in the way Twitter handles television-related tweets, which it processes a lot of. As All Things D notes:
But perhaps the biggest change will be centered on that which Twitter wants to be connected to the most: Television. Sources say that Twitter is experimenting with another stream dedicated solely to TV-related tweets and conversations, one which will likely find its way into Twitter’s new redesigned app.
The real question, though, is whether or not Twitter will actually filter out TV-related tweets from this supposed new feed or if these tweets will show up in both places. If it's the latter, this could be a major in help in cleaning up the overwhelming noise that comes on big TV nights—not to mention the dreaded spoilers.
Of course, just because Twitter is putting something out into the world doesn't mean we can expect it to takeoff. Remember Twitter #Music? Yeah, we didn't think so. We'll just have to wait and see if people can actually get behind an all-TV all the time feed.
