Microsoft Corp.'s board said it will name a new CEO to replace Steve Ballmer by the end of the year, Bloomberg reports.
The board has already talked to potential replacements including Ford Motor Co. CEO Alan Mulally; former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop; Pivotal CEO Paul Maritz; and Microsoft business development and evangelism chief Tony Bates.
Bloomberg reports that the precise timing of a CEO announcement will depends on several factors like compensation negotiations.
