Intellicheck Mobilisa Launches Version 2.0 of barZapp™ ID-Checking Mobile App for Smartphones

New Version of App Offers New Features and Lower Price

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash.--()--Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSE MKT:IDN), a global leader in identity solutions and wireless security systems, has officially launched Version 2.0 of barZapp™, an ID-checking mobile app that allows a user’s smartphone to check an ID card. An introductory version is available in the Apple App Store for $1.99, with annual and monthly licenses available on Intellicheck Mobilisa’s website for $9.95 per month. barZapp 2.0 requires iOS 6.1 or greater, and a version for Android will be available soon.

barZapp 2.0 offers a host of new features. These include the ability to organize scanned IDs into various groups (“Banned,” “VIP,” “Custom”); and to keep track of the IDs of reentrants (patrons who have left a venue and returned). Furthermore, barZapp 2.0 provides an option to export scan history, and to keep track of venue occupancy. Version 2.0 also offers birthday, reentrant ID and group membership notifications, and a “Contact Us” popup. Finally, barZapp 2.0 sports a new streamlined look.

“The popularity of barZapp following its initial release on July 1 has exceeded our expectations, with over 3000 paid downloads to date,” said Nelson Ludlow, Ph.D., President and CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa. “We anticipate that barZapp 2.0, with its greater interactivity and enhanced array of features, and lower price will prove even more attractive to our intended customer base, including employees at restaurants and bars nationwide.”

As with the initial version of the app, barZapp 2.0 users can aim their smartphone at the barcode on a driver’s license to instantly read and verify the encoded information and display the results—including the bearer’s name, date of birth, ID expiration and ID number. barZapp 2.0 incorporates Intellicheck Mobilisa’s patented ID Check software that instantly verifies the authenticity of state and provincial driver licenses and ID cards, as well as military and government ID cards.

barZapp 2.0 can be utilized by servers at bars, restaurants and other establishments to reduce the chances of receiving fines and penalties when age-restricted products like alcohol, tobacco products, firearm ammunition and movie admissions, for example, are unknowingly sold to underage purchasers. Licenses are granted for individual devices.
