"We don't talk any more". It's a phrase we've all heard at some point, usually followed by something much more depressing and serious. For those who simply don't talk because they don't know what to talk about, there's a solution in sight! It's called Friendstrap. It's part game, part conversation starter. It's very simple - perhaps too much so - but it's a neat idea.

The game solely consists of two players, each holding one side of the iOS device, and seeing who will last the longest. Yup, it's a game that could last seconds, hours, or possibly even longer if that's how stubborn one feels. Release the iOS device and it's game over, with the other player winning. It sounds pointless because it very nearly is.

Friendstrap goes some way to circumventing the boredom by offering conversation topics as suggestions for how to spend the time while holding onto the iOS device. Topics are varied and include the likes of how one feels about having a double chin to artificial insemination and rather controversial poor life choices. Even more awkward options are available through an in-app purchase for those feeling brave. Not that Friendstrap forces anyone to keep on topic. If they wanted to they could sit in silence, but it'd be pretty boring.

It's safe to say that Friendstrap is a bit of a passing distraction rather than something that will genuinely captivate anyone for hours. Stuck waiting in a line or for an appointment? This is a reasonably entertaining way to pass a few minutes, but it's not exactly something that one will go out of their way to do. At least unless coming up with conversation topics really is difficult, then I guess Friendstrap could help. A lot.
