The StrongVolt SmartCharger Will Kickstart Your iOS Device's Battery

January 29, 2014
The batteries in iOS devices may someday be charged using solar technology. Until then, products like the StrongVolt SmartCharger hope to make a mark in the emerging solar industry. Created by San Diego-based Ian Sells, the StrongVolt uses patent-pending SunTrack technology to keep your iOS and Android-based devices charged. Unlike other solar chargers that turn off when clouds appear, the StrongVolt automatically turns back on when the sun comes back. The StrongVolt, which is compatible with all Apple devices, has already been successfully funded through Kickstarter. With 12 days to go before the project ends, Sells has raised nearly $53,000. The goal was $10,000. Take a look: The StrongVolt looks very interesting. Hopefully, we'll have the opportunity to take one out for a test drive in the coming weeks. Would-be Kickstarters have until Tuesday, Feb. 11 to make a donation. Funding levels are available where backers will receive a 3-, 5-, 7-, 10-, 12-, or 18-watt StrongVolt SmartCharger with SunTrack Technology.
