Jumpshare Makes File Sharing as Easy as Dragging and Dropping

Windows/OS X: Jumpshare, the previously mentioned webapp for hassle-free file sharing, now has a desktop utility that makes sending documents, images, folders, or any other files to someone else as easy as dragging and dropping. Best of all, it's free.

Jumpshare already recognizes over 200 specific file types, including Office documents, image files, videos, audio files, and more. It makes sending files to others super fast without you worrying about controlling who can access what, how much storage they take up in your account, or anything like that. To use it, just drag the file you want to share right on top of the Jumpshare systray icon in Windows, or menubar icon in OS X. You can use it to share files with others directly so they can download them whenever they need them, or hold down the Alt key while you drag and drop your file to post it directly to Twitter or Facebook. Jumpshare also has screenshot sharing built-in, so once installed you can have it automatically upload your screenshots and drop a link to it in your clipboard.

The Jumpshare OS X app has been around for a while, but the Windows utility just launched last week. The thing that makes Jumpshare a bit more useful than, say, just adding a file to Dropbox and sharing it is that you don't need to clutter up your own storage space with a file you're only sharing once or twice, or don't know when the recipient is planning to download it. It's not perfect though: Free accounts come with 2GB of storage, and each file can't be bigger than 100MB, so it's clearly not for massive files.
