Despite the installation of far too many utilities my Mac is somewhat pristine. That means I keep it and installed apps up to date; latest versions, OS X Mavericks included. Other than bringing the Menubar back to gray status- the way it was meant to be- I don’t engage in much customization or personalization. Even my Desktop wallpaper image comes from Apple.
If you’re a Mac user who loves the sissyfication and emasculation of OS X then you’ll love an iOS inspired 2D Dock to replace the Mac’s 3D Dock. It’s called cDock and it’s free for OS X Mavericks.
Here’s an image of the Mac’s more recent sissy look with the LaunchPad (obviously inspired by the iPhone’s icon screens), and the standard 3D Dock.
You can be sure that Apple’s chief design honcho Jonny Ive is hard at work ridding OS X of any remnants of skeumorphism, shadows, shine, and depth, so the only way to stand out among your Mac friends until OS X 10.10 arrives is by getting there first with cDock.
3D Dock, say hello to cDock and goodbye to 3D.
There’s not much to cDock. Installation takes a few seconds and you can choose from one of four different flat styled 2D Dock themes to grace your Mac until the official flat 2D designs show up in OS X 10.10 Bakersfield later this year.
Bakersfield?
With OS X Mavericks Apple has decided to highlight the company’s California roots. Cupertino, where Apple is headquartered, isn’t well known. So, what’s wrong with Bakersfield?

“sissyfication”? “sissy dock”?
You got a problem with sissies?
