Claure’s first objective is to cut prices, so as to make Sprint more competitive against its main rival, T-Mobile. He announced that the carrier will also simplify the plans it offers and improve the quality of its network, reported telecom industry publication Light Reading.

Sprint’s most recent attempt to restructure its family plans with the “Framily” concept fell flat with customers. Representatives in Sprint stores admitted that they had a hard time explaining the plan effectively to customers, Claure said.
“We’re going to change our plans to make sure they are simple and attractive, and make sure every customer in America thinks twice about signing up to a competitor,” Claure reportedly said.

Claure did not explain exactly how he plans to rejuvenate Sprint’s ailing network, nor did he divulge any details regarding the revamped plans or price structure. However, Sprint recently invited members of the press to an event in New York City early next week. It’s possible that the carrier will reveal more information during that event.
On his first day of work, Claure spoke with Apple’s Tim Cook, regarding the carrier’s relationship with Apple. It’s unknown what the two CEOs discussed during the meeting, but Claure told his staff that Apple will be “a crucial part of Sprint.”
