NFL announcers leave Microsoft gobsmacked as they call Surface an iPad

microsoft-surface-1If you have been following the NFL, then you might have noticed the players and the coaches holding a cyan coloured tablet in their hands. And if you are a geeky soul, then you might even have noticed that tiny Microsoft logo in the corner of the replay monitor and made out that the device they are holding is the tablet from Microsoft called Surface. Microsoft has paid a hefty sum of $400 million to NFL to make Surface “the official tablet of NFL. But, it seems that nobody told the announcers about the deal! During Sunday’s Falcons vs. Saints game, Drew Brees (New Orleans quarterback) was using the Surface to examine team’s previous possession; looking at this the FOX commentator made a huge gaffe and said “They’ve gotten rid of the pictures and now they got the iPad-like tools.”

Really? iPad like tools? Duh! As if this free publicity was not enough for the rival Apple, they used iPad twice instead of calling it Surface tablet from Microsoft. Looks like Microsoft PR Managers will have to pull up their socks for advertising their product and first inform the members and the announcers that the gadgets given to the players is not really an iPad but Microsoft’s tablet Surface!
