Popular jailbreak tweaks Activator and FlipSwitch get updated for iOS 8

October 26, 2014

Activator and FlipSwitch, the popular jailbreak packages from developer Ryan Petrich (@rpetrich), have just received updates adding support for Apple’s iOS 8.

You can download both jailbreak tweaks from Petrich’s beta repository (more on this below), and each adds optimization for the eighth iteration of Cupertino’s mobile operating system. As a reminder, you can jailbreak under iOS 8 (and even iOS 8.1) using the Pangu jailbreak tool: the solution is even compatible with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

In order to install the new releases of Activator and FlipSwitch, you’ll need to have added Petrich’s beta repository to your list of sources in the Cydia app. To do this, navigate to the “Sources” tab and add the following URL: http://rpetri.ch/repo/.

From here, both jailbreak tweaks will be available to download and install.

Have you decided to take the plunge and jailbreak under iOS 8? Here’s hoping more iOS 8-optimized jailbreak apps and tweaks hit the Cydia Store in the near future!
