November 4, 2014

Christian Bale is out, but Michael Fassbender could be in to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic of the Apple CEO and co-founder. That’s a according to a new report from Variety.

The German actor is in “early talks” to play the role, which was vacated by Christian Bale earlier this week.

Along with portraying Magneto in “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” Fassbender received an Academy Award nomination for his role in 2013’s “12 Years a Slave.”

The yet-to-be-titled film is based on Walter Isaacson’s novel “Jobs.” Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin said the movie will be divided into three, 30-minute scenes that take place before a major product unveiling – the original Mac, the NeXT cube, and the iPod.

Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle is set to direct. Principal photography was reportedly set to begin later this year, but its not known how the casting issues will affect that schedule.

Comedian Seth Rogen has also reportedly been in talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
