Acer, Intel, and Best Buy are pitching a new deal starting Sunday which will net holiday shoppers an Iconia Tab 8 for just $139, with a $40 Best Buy gift card thrown in to really sweeten the pot.

The partners are promoting the package with a funny new 45-second ad spot called "Go Big or Go Home," featuring muscular elves lifting weights with all the free time they've been granted thanks to the availability of Acer's 8-inch tablet and Best Buy's gift card. Check it out below.

"This campaign accomplishes something very important during the hectic holiday season—it provides our customers with an excellent deal and we hope it also gives them a laugh," Richard Black, senior director of marketing at Acer America, said in a statement. "The discounted price of the Acer Iconia Tab 8 and the extra bonus of the free $40 Best Buy gift card will appeal to anyone who has been looking for an outstanding tablet at a great value."

The Iconia Tab 8 sports a quad-core 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage—though a hefty chunk of that is taken up by the Android 4.4 operating system and some unremovable bloatware. You've also the ability to add up to 32GB more with a microSD card.

Holiday Gift Guide bug The tablet's 8-inch full HD, 1,280-by-800-resolution display is pretty sharp for the price tag. The Iconia Tab 8 has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for adequate, if underwhelming photo and video capabilities.

The Iconia Tab 8 supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, which is a bit behind the times as far as connectivity specs go, but still gets the job done. Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS are also part of the package.

The tablet measures 8.5 by 5.1 by 0.3 inches (HWD) and weighs in at 12.6 ounces. The bezel on the Iconia Tab 8 is a "crisp" white and it has a detailed metal back cover.

The newer Iconia Tab 8 with 2GB of RAM and a 1,920-by-1,200 will set you back about $180. For more, see PCMag's full review.
