The SanDisk iXpand is a 32GB or 64GB flash drive designed to make it easy to copy photos and videos from iPhones and iPads, and then optionally copy them to a Mac or Windows PC.
To achieve this task, iXpand is equipped with Lightning and USB interfaces. No cables are required and - according to the company - the drive can be plugged into an iPhone or iPad fitted with a case.
The downloadable iXpand Sync app runs automatically when the iXpand is plugged into an iOS device, and provides the option of automatically syncing photos and videos from the camera roll to the drive.

Some images are innocuous but nevertheless sensitive - family videos, or photos taken in relation to an insurance claim come to mind - so the app supports encryption.
The SecureAccess applications that allow encrypted files to be used under OS X or Windows are available for free download from SanDisk's support site. It also allows files originating on the computer to be stored in encrypted form on the iXpand.
"According to IDC, nearly three-quarters of all images are now captured on smartphones and tablets," said SanDisk ANZ country manager George Saad.
"With this significant increase in mobile-generated content, consumers are looking for easy ways to manage it all.
"We created the iXpand Flash Drive to offer consumers a quick and safe way to move their favourite content between devices so it's available when and where they want it."
iXpand works with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, and iPad mini. Either iOS 8 or iOS 7 are required.
Available from Officeworks, iXpand costs $129 (32GB) or $179 (64GB).
