Apple is reportedly considering opening dedicated Apple Watch retail stores.

Reports from France claim that the iPhone maker is currently building special displays for the upcoming wearable to go in high-end retailers such as Galeries Lafayette on Champs-Élysées.

9to5Mac suggests that dedicated Apple Watch outlets within other stores could be rolled out further if the plan performs well in France.

Apple may choose to run the operation similar to its Mac areas in Best Buy stores or could go all out with smaller-scale stores specifically for the Apple Watch.

At present, the obvious plan is to sell the devices in its existing Apple Stores which sell the company's entire range of products.

CEO Tim Cook recently confirmed that the wearable will begin shipping by April, although it's still not clear which countries will receive the device within this time frame.
