The HP Spectre X2 will start rolling out this November 8, with starting price of $800. The X2 is expected to compete with the Microsoft's Surface Pro line. Moreover, it stands-out with extraordinary exterior design and impressive specs like USB type-C, Olufsen speakers, sixth-gen Core M chip, etc.

HP Spectre X2 has built its own reputation of being a distinctively premium styled detachable tablet. As noted by Thurrot, the Spectre X2 is the first tablet based 2-in-1 PC with a kickstand and clip-on keyboard cover. Hence, the tablet based 2-in-1 PC is dominating the latest market trends ever since the Microsoft Surface Pro has been launched.

On the other hand, even Dell and Lenovo have also announced its detachable tablet that closer to the looks and design of Microsoft Surface Pro. However, HP chooses to track the different way and it was able to pull out the twist of turn to its latest detachable handset in terms of exterior design.

Furthermore, the 12 inch HP Spectre X2 has a set of impressive service pack to offer on its Microsoft inspired design. The adjustable kickstand and sturdy keyboard itself rocks on to its fullest pride. The Spectre X2 keyboard earns positive feedbacks from various tech reviewers, from the hardware that increases its great deal of sophistication factor, to the keyboard that provides the neat fabric bottom cover.

According to Engadget, the Spectre X2 won't be packed with the new sixth-gen Core i5/i7 processors, but with sixth-gen Core M chips instead. Although, it's worth noting that the Surface Pro 4 also comes with a Core M chip. As noted by Engadget on its review, the Core M is lower-powered than more robust Core-series CPUs, but doesn't actually offer a big advantage in battery life.

Additionally, the X2 is packed with an LTE antenna inside as standard and an Intel RealSense 3D camera on the back. It will also come in a 12-inch IPS panel that has 1920 x 1080 resolution. Alongside with the Core M, there's an 8 GB of RAM and a choice of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB SSD storage. The new convertible also makes use of the latest in connectivity, with two USB Type-C ports included on the tablet, as well as an adapter in the box for backwards compatibility with older USB devices.

As reported by the GizMag, the HP Spectre X2 is positioned to compete directly with Microsoft's Surface Pro line that offers some high-end extras, like quad Bang & Olufsen speakers. There's no stylus included in the box, but the Spectre x2 is compatible with active pens from Wacom. While the kickstand, which is a band, releases by sliding a button on the side of the slate and rotates through 150 degrees. Moreover, the keyboard measures 5 mm (0.2 in) thick with plenty of room between keys, and an expansive trackpad. There is also 1.5 mm of travel on the keys, and a split design, with fabric base and aluminum top.

The HP Spectre X2 looks like it could be a promising convertible. There's no option to put a higher-end Intel Core i5 or i7 processor inside, so it is sort of competing with the Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book in terms of raw power, but with the keyboard included as standard, it could end up being a good value.
