Apple has been trolled by users of rival smartphones following the release of its second ever Android app.

The tech giant unveiled a remote control for its Beats Pill+ speaker yesterday, but was immediately attacked by "childish and ignorant" Android fans.

Dozens of people rushed to give the app a one star review on Google Play , with many writing messages mocking Apple.

Android obsessives hoped to dissuade fellow users from using the app by bombarding it with criticism.

"Did not cure my flu like symptoms," one troll wrote.

"What kind of a pill is this?"

One person questioned Beats founder Dr Dre's medical credentials.

"I think he might not even be a doctor," he suggested.

Another added: "Doesn't work as advertised I left my Benadryl in the other room so I downloaded this app with hopes that it'd use its Bluetooth or cloud services or whatever to fetch it for me."

Apple lovers then flocked to Google Play to deliver their own sharp retorts in defence of the beloved tech firm.

"Grow up fanboy losers," one fan replied.

"You're not funny.

"Stop thinking about Apple every moment of your life.

"Losers."

A patriot then raged: "Why try to ruin an AMERICAN company's reputation by leaving false reviews?"
