TAIPEI -- Apple has opened a research and development center for advanced display technologies in northern Taiwan city of Taoyuan, a local official said.
The statement by spokesman Chang Chin-feng of the Hsinchu Science Bureau, under Taiwan's Ministry of Science and Technology, came as the Cupertino, California-based Apple has been working on making displays thinner and more power-efficient for the new generation of iPhones, iPads and wearables.
