No, Kim Kardashian didn't break 'entire App Store'

Kim Kardashian may want to break the Internet, but she hasn't destroyed Apple's App Store just yet.

The entrepreneur and socialite on Monday released Kimoji, an app that lets users type emoji characters based on her life, including her clothing and famous derriere. On Twitter, Kardashian said intense demand for the app left some fans unable to download or use it. "Kimoji not working" became a popular Google search.

However, the "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star's claim that Kimoji "broke the entire App Store" may be exaggerated. Apple's service page lists no widespread issues or outages for the App Store on Monday or Tuesday.

Still, Kardashian's app made waves. The App Store listed Kimoji — which costs $1.99 — as its top paid download as of Tuesday morning.

"Kimoji" is not Kardashian's first attempt to set the Internet abuzz. The phrase "Break the Internet" was used with her widely circulated Paper Magazine cover photo last year.

The app's release caps a busy stretch for Kardashian. She and her husband, rapper Kanye West, recently had their second child, a son named Saint.

Apple declined to officially comment on the matter.
