Today, EVGA’s team has announced the availability of a new BIOS update developed for its Intel Z170 Chipset motherboards, namely version 1.07, compatible with the Z170 Classified, FTW, and Stinger models.

In terms of changes, the current release adds support for non-K CPU BCLK overclocking and improves memory compatibility as well as internal graphics performance.

Therefore, if you want to make use of these changes, first go to BIOS and load the default settings. Do not initiate the upgrade while using an overclocked configuration as this can lead to malfunctions.

Afterwards, save and unzip the downloadable archive, close all programs that might interfere with the upgrade, locate “update.bat” from the newly extracted files, and press “Y” to start the flash process.

Bear in mind that, while flashing the BIOS, you mustn’t power off/reboot the computer or interrupt the upgrade in any way. Once finished, the system will automatically shut down.

However, if “update.bat” box immediately closes when opened, copy all extracted content onto a formatted USB flash drive, reboot the computer, and go to “Select BIOS File” from within the BIOS settings. From there, select the .bin file and agree to initiate the upgrade.

That said, download EVGA Z170 BIOS 1.07 for your appropriate model, take into account all aspects as mentioned above, and apply the update. Also, check back with us constantly to be aware when a newer version is available.
