HP bringing VR experiences to ChromebooksJanuary 22, 2016 - 15:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Virtual reality doesn't come cheap. On top of a ninja PC, you'll have to stump up as much as $700 for an Oculus Rift or equivalent headset. But HP is bringing VR experiences to more modest machines, with software that makes such features accessible to Chromebook owners, Digital Spy said citing Computer World. The computing firm is experimenting with "blended reality", a concept that combines VR technology and 3D printing. The project is based around tools that will help users create 3D content, combined with a form of web-based VR that runs on modestly-specced Chromebooks. The specifics of the venture are unclear at present, but it's obvious that HP is taking a radically different approach to VR competitors HTC and Oculus VR. HP is expected to release a new 3D printer this year. Photo: HP Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
