Stock indexes leapt Thursday morning on bullish oil news and on strong earnings reports from top-rated stocks, but then the indexes pared gains. The Nasdaq held a 0.3% gain after being up 1.5% early. The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones industrial average gripped gains of 0.1% and less than 0.1%, respectively. The small-cap Russell 2000 was up 0.8%. Volume in the…
