At the top of the news this week is the pair of new Amazon Echo products, the Tap and the Echo Dot. The former is a portable Bluetooth version of the Echo, and the latter is a squat, compact Echo that’s meant to be placed in a second location in your house. Both offer all the same voice controls, and the same instant access to Alexa.

The hosts riff on all of this, then consider some possible ways smart-home tools can start incorporating other sensor input into their cloud-brains.
