IBM Says Startup Grush Leverages Its Cloud Cognetive Capabilities For Its Interactive Gaming
International Business Machines Corp (NYSE: IBM) announced that startup Grush is leveraging IBM Cloud's cognitive capabilities for its interactive gaming toothbrush for children. According to the tech firm, Grush turns brushing into a real-time interactive app on mobile devices through Bluemix, as well as, the Watson Analytics API.
IBM said that with the advanced motion-sensing technology, Grush captures thousands of data points while a child was brushing and sends them via Bluetooth to the IBM Cloud, where they are analyzed and turned into fun mobile brushing games. For instance, the "Toothy Castles" game enables children to wipe away monsters in the areas of the mouth that have not been brushed.
IBM's GM for Developer Ecosystem, and startups, Sandy Casrter, said, "We see ourselves as a true technology and go-to-market partner for our developers and startups. Their success is our success."
Similarly, Grush co-founder and COO, Ethan Schur, reacted to say, "The personalized, first hand support from the IBM Global Entrepreneur program is unparalleled. IBM will talk with you in depth to understand your goals and needs and work with you on a plan of action. For us, this has been critical."
On Thursday, shares of the company traded 0.37 percent higher.
