Square Enix has already conquered gaming consoles and computers, and now they’re aiming to take over another platform: your Apple Watch. The Japanese gaming company announced that they would be developing Cosmos Rings, a roleplaying game that will run on your smartwatch.

The game appears to have some A-List talent behind it

The game is a spinoff from the company’s Chaos Rings franchise, and utilizes the Watch's pedometer. Players work to bring back the Goddess of Time as they "face the many human emotions from the Interval of Time." Despite the incredibly vague description, the game appears to have some A-list talent behind it, such as Takehiro Ando, who worked on the company’s Chaos Rings and Final Fantasy franchises.

This certainly isn't the first RPG for the Apple Watch, but it does appear to be designed specifically for it, with an emphasis on beautiful design and graphics.

Interestingly, the announcement comes just a month after the company stopped distributing most of the Chaos Rings games (as well as several others) through the App Store. The only installment of the franchise that’s currently available is Chaos Rings III.

The game is expected to be released sometime this summer.
