IBM under fire as census blame game starts
Melbourne technology company Revolution IT has denied any culpability for the website failure that crippled the 2016 Census, as speculation mounts about the role of IBM in the high profile bungle.
Revolution was paid $469,000 to test the site and ensure it wouldn't crash due to traffic and its director Hamish Leighton told The Australian Financial Review it had provided advice based on the requirements given to it by IBM and the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which had both taken the decision to deliberately bring the website down due to security concerns on Tuesday night.
