With Apple expected to refresh a range of products this fall, anticipation is growing that an upgraded Watch could be on the horizon.

Though rumours are mixed regarding when the next generation wearable will drop, 9to5Mac could have unearthed the biggest hint yet that the Apple Watch 2 is almost with us.

The blog notes how a range of Apple Watch Sport models are currently listed as "Sold Out" on Apple's website, with this even including several nylon band options which were introduced earlier this year.

For the more expensive stainless steel tier, all 38mm options are listed as in-stock and shipping on Apple's website, though several of the 42mm options are backordered by 4-6 weeks.

As for the Hermès variants, almost all large sized bands are sold out, while a variety of smaller options are also unavailable.

With such a depleted stock on display, this points to the company purposely not renewing options in order to focus on the upcoming refresh.

So if you're in the market for a new smartwatch, it's probably best to save your cash for when Apple launches the Watch 2 - which could be alongside the iPhone next month or at a separate event in October.

And in the unlikely reality Apple doesn't launch the upgraded wearable this fall, at least the upcoming watchOS will help your existing model feel brand new.
