YEREVAN. – An IBM regional center of excellence for social services will be established in Armenia.

The respective decision was reached at Friday’s Cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Artem Asatryan, informed that Armenia will be switching to a single E-platform for state social services. As per the minister, this means that they need to be in a single technological environment, which will ensure their compatibility with the single database.

To these ends, Armenia has signed a memorandum with the IBM Corporation, and within the framework of US Government assistance, whereby it is planned to set up a regional center of excellence in Armenia, and based on the IBM Cúram  system.

Asatryan added that this will enable to create systems for further automation of services, and export them to other countries.
