Apple Scrambles To Make Upgrade Program Customers Happy, Adds New Reservations And Phones

This article is more than 7 years old.

iPhone Upgrade Program customers, have you been hammering constantly at the email that Apple sent earlier this week, only to be met with no availability or limited supplies? You're not alone.

Program participants across the country have been howling about their inability to upgrade on the release date, despite Apple's claim that they could "upgrade every year." They want Apple to follow that to the letter, and "mid-October" is not "September 16."

In response to the growing public outcry, Apple has made more reservation times and product available for launch day this Friday. I was able to reserve an iPhone 7 Plus on the AT&T network without any problems this morning, after days of seeing only iPhone 7 Rose Gold models available at my local store.

In the email that went out to customers earlier today, Apple even provides a link to a short form to fill out if you still can't reserve the model that you want to pickup this Friday. Apple does flat out say that Jet Black is no longer available for reservation.

So, if you'd given up on getting a launch day upgrade, head over to the iPhone Upgrade Program site or follow the link in the email Apple sent you earlier this week. Report back with what you were able to grab!
