"We've passed peak Apple: it's all downhill from here/The decision to dump Google's maps for its own, and the changes at the top of the company to eject Scott Forstall and John Browett point to a subtle downward trajectory" ["Why do I think Apple has passed its peak? There are a number of signs. The most visible recent one is the Maps debacle. Replacing Google Maps with an obviously inferior experience shows how much Apple has changed. Apple's success had been all about offering users the best possible experience; suddenly it is willing to give users a clearly worse experience to further its corporate interests - in this case its long-running dispute with Google."] The Guardian 7:45 AM

"Tried to buy an app on new iPhone. Was prompted to answer security questions 'because it's a new device.' I don't know any of the answers. The few I tried were wrong. I have vague recollection of trying to cancel out of a request to provide such answers in the past few months. It's possible I entered and forgot them, in spite of being pretty anal about maintaining password records. It's also possible I never provided such answers and am in the midst of a snafu. I called Apple support about this twice and they have not reset the security questions. (Must... avoid... ranting.) I'm definitely driving on Infinte Loop. Can anyone tell me what Magick Incantation I can use with Apple Support to get them to reset the questions?" MacInTouch 1:20 PM
