Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s first event will be filled with festivities for the holidays.

Starting today, players will have the opportunity to craft all kinds of special items, including Santa hats, Christmas trees, and wreaths.

Pocket Camp has gotten off to a great start on mobile, with over 15 million downloads in its first six days of availability, according to recent estimates. Nintendo hopes to maintain that early excitement with a new event for the holidays.

Animal Crossing’s first event starts today

As of 10 p.m. PT today, you’ll start collecting candy canes with every request you complete. Those candy canes will allow you to craft holiday items that you can use to decorate your camp and animals. Everyone gets a Santa hat automatically.

Other clothing items are available, alongside furniture, decorations, and food. Some of the content was revealed in Nintendo’s Twitter announcement, but the company hasn’t specified exactly what will be on offer.

You will also have the opportunity to complete time-limited goals, which will reward you with even more candy canes, leaf tickets, or Christmas clothing. Candy canes will also be available from the Shovelstrike Quarry if you visit at the right time of the day.

It’s great to see that Pocket Camp is getting its first event just a week after making its debut. It looks like Nintendo has plenty of content lined up for the game, which will surely become one of its most successful mobile release so far.

If you haven’t already started playing, you can download Pocket Camp from the App Store now.
