Hewlett-Packard Co. on Wednesday named software chief Bill Veghte as chief operating officer and brought on George Kadifa from Silver Lake Partners to fill his former job.
The Palo Alto company (NYSE:HPQ) said that Veghte will continue to oversee company strategy and that Kadifa will report directly to CEO Meg Whitman.
Kadifa most recently was operating partner for the value creation team at the Silver Lake private equity firm. He previously was an executive at both IBM and Corio.
