In the following video, technology analysts Eric Bleeker and Andrew Tonner discuss the differences between the Kindle Fire HD and the iPad Mini after time spent with each device. While the Kindle Fire HD sports a screen that is in many ways superior, Eric and Andrew note the overall superiority of the iPad Mini's hardware.

In the end, Eric and Andrew's main objection to the Kindle Fire is its confusing interface that limits improvements to Amazon.com's ecosystem. The company continues building out its media stores and encouraging app development, but a confusing interface detracts from the experience and feels sluggish at times. That's in contrast to Apple's proven interface, with its solid ecosystem ranging from tie-ins to messaging apps to Facetime and access to iTunes and existing app collections. Eric and Andrew think those advantages are enough that consumers will gravitate toward the iPad Mini in spite of its higher price.
