The Tusk is a badass iPhone dock for your wrist

You ever seen Taxi Driver? In it, Robert DeNiro’s Travis Bickle created a sort of holster to keep a pistol up his sleeve, so just by flicking his wrist, it would leap to his hand.

The Tusk is kind of like that, except it’s not for your gun. It’s for your iPhone.

The Tusk was created by Derek Rieger, an engineer who was in a major car accident which made it difficult for him to move his hands. Despite that, during that time, he found himself using his smartphone a lot, and began wondering if there was a way to make it easier to use an iPhone without actually having to hold it.

The Telephone Utility Support Kit, or Tusk, was born. It’s a dock with an articulated arm that you strap around your wrist. Think of it as a dock on your forearm that keeps the iPhone within finger’s length without actually having to hold it. Watch a movie on it, wear it almost like a smartwatch, whatever: the Tusk makes it possible.

OK, you can’t flick the Tusk to put your iPhone away, Taxi Driver style. Maybe for revision 2. In the meantime, if you want to order a Tusk, you can get it from Kickstarter for around $39.
