If you've ever felt like tracking your middling bouts of exercise, you're likely familiar with Nike's Running app.
Not only has the company announced it will be rebranding the app with a number of nifty new features, but it also appears to have slipped in the most concrete Apple Watch 2 leak we've seen so far. Whoops.
While the app introduces an all-new visual interface that foregrounds trackers like run time, distance and location, the redesign has been somewhat overshadowed by the buried details which indicate the upcoming Watch 2 will be GPS-enabled:
"Welcome to Nike+ Run Club. The Nike+ Running app is now the Nike+ Run Club app with a fresh, new & improved look," it stated, listing:
- Coaching plans now adapt to your schedule and progress.
- More fun and personal post-run sharing than ever.
- Compare and compete with your friends by hash-tagging runs.
- Leave your phone at home and run free with Apple Watch.
The last line suggests this is a pretty closed case, even if it does contradict recent rumours speculating that the Apple Watch 2 wouldn't feature independence from the iPhone.
With Apple set to launch the new wearable alongside the iPhone 7 next month, expect to hear more leaks in the build-up before official confirmation.
